Adventure: Dallas, TX

Hello kittens! Last week I was in Texas to visit my sister, brother-in-law, and adorable nephew for a few days. They recently bought their first house (eek!) and I wanted to help them decorate and put together it a bit. This was the first time I visited them since Liam was born (I’ve seen them a lot in the past 8 months, but it’s always been them driving up to Kansas to visit, so I figured it was my turn). :)

The first day consisted of me getting up at 4am to make sure I made my early flight. Once I said goodbye to T, I was on the plane and about an hour and a half later I was greeted by the cutest nephew and wonderful sister. They took me back to their house! I got the grand tour and we hung out, chatted, baked yummy aussie bites in the kitchen and caught up on life. Sigh, I already miss being there, but I do have these photos to remember what fun we had! Even if Liam was teething and was a bit ornery the whole week. ;)

Later in the evening Liam and I went outside to take photos while Angela started dinner.

Just chilling with my nephew in my pjs.

Napping.

But as soon as I clicked one photo he was up and happy!

Day two: we went to the mall with Doug and as he watched Liam, us sisters had some fun (see photos from my IG here and here). Then in the evening we went to the Dallas skyline for photos (remember when I did this last year here and here). Well, they had the #dallasBIG sign on the bridge and we took a few photos in between it.

Now for family photos!

The sun came out and was a bit too bright, so we meandered down under the bridge to find some green grass and the city skyline for some more photos. (good thing A+D are used to me doing mini photo shoots with them. hehe.)

Ha, but Liam wasn’t having it after a few minutes of photo taking.

Day three: Woke up and made our way to the Container Store and IKEA! Going shopping with a baby is way different from before. I’m not a mom, but kudos to all the mom’s out there hauling their littles to stores. We found what we were looking for and headed back home where we painted the shelves and watched a movie.

Day four: Decorating the house, especially Liam’s room (photos of his room at end of post). But trying to work when this little man wouldn’t nap was fun. lol. Angela had just put him down to sleep in the other room and run to the store while I hung the shelves, when he woke up. Silly Liam. So I put him in the crib with toys and he loved watching me use the power tools to hang the shelves. He was so darn cute that I put down the tools and busted out my camera for a mini lifestyle session. :) Get used to it kid, Auntie Jaclyn will always take photos of you.

“Who me?” Yes you, you cutie pie!

Liam and his elephant posse (smallest to biggest): Ellie, Margaret (Maggie), Reginald (Reggie), Humphrey, and Winston. Such sweet and awesome names right?

You can see his bottom goofers are in and his top ones are working their way out too.

Even with him teething he is such a happy baby!

A few of his room. It’s totally adorable. We got the curtains and spice racks from IKEA. We painted the spice racks and made them into book shelves for his room. Too cute!

We plan on painting cute clouds above the white shelves there on the blue wall to tie in the curtains, but we didn’t have enough time. That’s okay, because the room isn’t all the way finished anyway, so I will just help Ang through phone calls and Pinterest. :)

I had such a wonderful time visiting my sister. I can’t wait to visit again and to continue helping decorate (one of my favorite things to do). Love you Angela, Doug and Liam!

Peace + love, Jaclyn
