Create: Casino Sign

Hello kittens! I am back with another DIY project. This time it’s for the Murder Mystery Party I am throwing this weekend (see what I’m wearing here). I love me some glitter and I am in need of a Casino Sign, so I thought I would make one and show you how I went about it.

All you need is:

  1. 5 12x12 sheets of black glittery paper
  2. 1 12x12 sheet of gold glittery paper
  3. Scissors
  4. Pencil
  5. 1 1/4 inch circle cutter
  6. Letter templates (I made it a light gray color to conserve ink)
  7. Glue dots
  8. And for the pesky areas to cut (like middle of A and O) Xacto Knife + pad

supplies for making sign

Begin by cutting out the letters to make a template.

letters cut

Line them up in the corners to save on paper and to make your job easier when cutting. I was able to get the letter ‘I’ in with the ‘C.’

Trace each letter on the back of black glittery paper.

Tip: remember to lay them “backwards” i.e. lay the letter C so the front will be the black glittery side and the white side will be back of letter. Make sense? :)

Use Xacto knife for the inside of letter ‘A’ and ‘O.’

Looking good!

letters cut out

Use your 1 1/4 inch circle cutter to cut out 47 gold circles.

punch holes

Layout the gold circles and glue with glue dots (or actual glue if you don’t want to buy glue dots, tho drying time is way faster).

Voila! It’s finished and looks awesome!

Easy peasy. Only took me about an hour to do (well, a bit longer since I was taking photos too).

I will post photos of the sign up on the wall next week once the party is done and I’ve edited all the photos. Eek! I am so excited for this weekend! Have you ever thrown or been to a Murder Mystery Party before?

Peace + love, Jaclyn
