Hey kitty cats! You itching to create something? Me too! I had so many photos from my Portland trip that I needed to print some off. I decided to go with Artifact Uprising and do the square prints. They have great deals a couple times a year where their square art prints are free and you just pay for shipping. So, I was like, hell to the yes! and got me some. :) I then got on Pinterest to look for some inspiration and came across this pin and thought I could do something similar.
You will need:
- piece of wood, I used driftwood from Desktop Forests
- tape or clips (pictured clips, but I ended up using tape)
Start by tying off one end of your string to the driftwood.
Wrap around multiple times.
Measure out how big of a “triangle” you want when you hang it.
Tie this end to the drift wood, unwind even more string then snip snip!
Continue wrapping until you run out of string, then tuck it under some of the wrapped string.
Pick and lay out your photos. This is the hardest part, choosing your photos. lol. Also, lay them into three columns. This will help determine where the string will go in the next step.
Starting with one column of photos, cut more string (longer than you might think you’ll need, just to be on the safe side), tie and wrap around driftwood. It’s a good idea to place the string on top of the photos to help find where all three columns will go so it looks evenly spaced. Check out photos:
Once string is wrapped onto driftwood I placed all of the photos on top of string to make sure it all lined up.
Flipping photos over, putting string on the backs, I then lined it all up again and was ready for taping.
At first I was going to use clips, but decided on tape for this wall hanging (check out bottom of post to see how I used clips in another wall hanging). Two pieces of tape on the back side of the photo seemed to do the trick.
Get to taping!
Once I securely taped each photo I was ready to hang. I didn’t have a nail on hand, so I used a push pin. ha! And voila! A cool photo wall hanging for my office.
I think it turned out beautifully and I can’t wait to make an even bigger one with all the photos I have printed.
What do you think? You like it? If you make one yourself do take a photo and tag or share it with me. I love seeing peoples creations!
Peace + love, Jaclyn
P.S. I used tape to secure my photos for this DIY, but you can also use clips like I did with this fun little guy:
