Hello kitty cats! My apologies for not having a blog post this past Wednesday, but have no fear, I have another grrrrreat Creative Folks for you today. It’s Cassoday! The wonderful film photographer whom I met through social media and this photography group this summer. She has such inspiring photographs and words to go with them that I had to have her on me blog. :) I also loved her feature in Life on Film. So so good! Here are a few of my favorite instagram photos of hers, then as you read about Cassoday you can see her amazing photographs she picked out for todays Creative Folks. Thanks Cassoday!

What is the first significant thing you did this morning?

It’s 8:21, and I just woke up. Usually the first thing I do is go downstairs to make coffee and breakfast, and check my email. I don’t have class until ten, so I use the mornings to get oddities done.

What inspires you? When are you happiest?

Everything inspires me. In particular, weather, colors, literature, other art, people, clothing, locations, time of day, songs; the list goes on. I’m usually happy, but I think I’m happiest when I’m making someone else happy.

What are you trying to teach yourself right now?

It’s not a selfish thing to take care of yourself first.

What is your favorite memory and what does it say about you?

I have many, many fond memories, most involving my childhood or traveling, but my favorite was probably when my sister and I saw the ocean for the first time together. It was sunset, we just ran into the water with our dresses on. I don’t talk about it, it was a long time ago, but I think I still have some photos from that day, which only elevates the memory.

Describe one accomplishment you’ve achieved. Describe one challenge that you have faced.

I feel accomplished in a lot of ways and for a lot of reasons, mostly I just feel proud that I’ve documented my life with a camera daily for years. I don’t know if that’s considered an accomplishment, but it’s what I feel the best about. I think it’s a little harder for midwest photographers to become and stay relevant, in a sense, so that’s certainly a challenge.

What is the last thing you did for work?

Currently in the middle of editing a session.

And just for fun, what animal would you like to experience being for a day?

Either a dog or a bird. Probably a dog, so I could communicate with other dog.
