Hello kittens! The third Creative Folks post is here! Today I introduce you to Julia. The amazing gal I call my friend and sister to Amber (whom you meet a couple of weeks ago here. I also met Julia at her brothers wedding back in 2011. Since then, we have creeped on each others instagram profiles, hung out at outdoor markets, got together to practice calligraphy and photography, and she had me guest blog on her blog once. This gal can do it all! She’s adorable and I am glad she wanted to be a part of my blog today. Yay!
What is the first significant thing you did this morning?
The first significant thing I did this morning was read my Bible. It’s amazing how much better my day seems to go (or how much better I can handle my day) when I do this first thing.
What inspires you? When are you happiest?
Travel. Typography. Photography. People. Cello Music. Calligraphy.
I’m the happiest when I’m with Kyle…Specifically when I’m travelling with Kyle. He is the best travel partner ever. Not afraid to be silly, easy on the eyes, and he’s the best dj around. :)
What are you trying to teach yourself right now?
Calligraphy! It’s a never ending process. I began learning calligraphy about a year ago because I wanted to make cool looking birthday cards. (I have TERRIBLE hand writing so this was always impossible!) I’ve since fallen in love with the process. Also, html/css. Nothing too in depth, but I like being able to tweak my website on my own!
What is your favorite memory and what does it say about you?
I have lots of favorite memories. Can one have multiple favorites? :) One of the more recent ones was a couple weeks ago. Kyle and I took a road trip to Colorado to do some camping and hiking. On the last day we hiked for eleven hours (eleven hours, people!) and completed our first fourteener. While doing it, we both kept saying it was the hardest thing we’d ever done in our life and we kept taking turns convincing the other one that we could do it. (And by this I mean, Kyle kept telling me I wasn’t dying…) The view when we got to the top though? Unbelievable. It was hard, hard work. But it was breathtakingly beautiful and so worth it. I’ll never forget it.
Describe one accomplishment you’ve achieved. Describe one challenge that you have faced.
I recently had a few photographs published in Wolftree Magazine. It was one of the more exciting moments of my life. :) I love, love, love this magazine and the creators behind it. It’s filled with so much goodness. It was such an honor to be a part of it! It’s always challenging putting your work out there like that.
What is the last thing you did for work?
Editing. Editing. Editing.
And just for fun, what animal would you like to experience being for a day?
A Liger. It’s pretty much my favorite animal. It’s like a lion and a tiger mixed…bred for it’s skills in magic.
Thank you again Julia!
