Hey there kitty cats. I made something pretty cool. I made postcards! EEK! I’ve never done this before, but I think they turned out brilliantly. A few months back, a friend of mine told me she thought my calligraphy and art skills should make something related to Wichita and that got my wheels a turning. I have come up with many ideas and this is the first idea coming to life. I am so excited!
This Saturday there is an Artisan Market at The Workroom 10am-5pm. And yours truly will have my postcards for sale. Wohoo! Look for Liv + Work’s amazing new Pop Up Shop to find my postcards. I can’t wait to see her shop too! She’s been working real hard to make this dream of hers come true and I am thrilled to be a small part of it.
Description of this bad ass weekend of fun: Best local shopping #madeinICT with over 50 local art vendors, a killer live music lineup and a dozen food trucks to boot!
Now onto the postcards.
I sketched out these 4 ideas in my sketch book, scanned them into my computer, cleaned them up a little bit and got them ready for print. I ordered them through Overnight Prints since I waited until the last minute to get them (bad Jaclyn). And while they are awesome for my purposes, I think the next print run I do I want to try and find somewhere locally to do it. But hey, you do what you gotta do right? :)
Here they are in their packages all ready to go forth and hopefully find new homes. I love the idea of people buying these and writing fun notes to their friends and loved ones. So cool!
Thanks for reading this blog post and seeing a peek into what I’ve been creating lately. I can’t wait to share more art with you all! Hope to see you Saturday. I’ll be there for a little bit in the early afternoon, but send me a text if you saw my postcards. That’d be really cool. :)
Peace + love, Jaclyn
