Jack Of All Trades

Last week, after this post, I got together with a few of my friends to discuss my decision of quitting the photography biz and boy was it helpful! They each shared with me words of encouragement and helped me realize that it’s okay not to know what I want to do with my life. And that I had lots of options ahead of me. It started off as making me sad because of the phrase:

Jack of all trades, master of none

To me, this has always had a negative feel to it. Like, even though I am an artist who dabbles in a lot of areas, I’m not good enough in one specific area. And that scared the be-jeezes out of me. I know I’m good at a lot of things, but that darn doubting voice likes to creep up and tell me that I’m not. So after talking with my friends and hearing them out I felt better about where I am today.

I went home and looked up the phrase and come to find out, more has been added to it to bring back the positive meaning it once had! Huzzah!

Jack of all trades, master of none

Often times better than a master of one

This makes me feel even better. It makes me happy to see that phrases that were once negative, are being changed back to their original positive meanings. Everyone needs positivity in their lives! And I am working everyday to turn my frown upside down. ;)

Anyway, I hope this helps someone out, even if it is just me.

Peace + love, Jaclyn
