If you didn’t read yesterday’s post on what we did earlier on Day 5, do check it out, then come back here! The reason I broke this day up into 2 separate posts is because I took so many photos at the beach that I didn’t want to narrow it down anymore. lol.
After driving back from the Coast (and taking a nap in the car) we drove to downtown Portland to go back to the Work/shop to see it during the day. Sadly it is closed on Monday’s, so I took a few photos through the window.
By this time we were hungry again, Chelsea found us a vegan restaurant to eat at and we walked there. It took a bit of walking to get there, but it was still fun to just be out. Plus, I was also a pro at walking long distances that my feet didn’t hurt anymore. ha!
We ate outside on the patio area at the delicious Vtopia. The make their own vegan cheese and I had the brie, apple slices, greens, and more in my sandwich. It was seriously so good. I know I’ve said that about everything I ate, but Portland had so many options for vegetarians, vegans and gluten free folk! And that’s who we are!
I also splurged and got these vegan truffles for Chelsea and I. Yum!
We then made our way back to the car and to Ground Kontrol, but before we went in there we stumbled upon an adorable shop called, Hello from Portland. It’s a souvenir shop and just what I wanted to find. I got myself a mug, magnet, and a few other goodies for friends and family. It was awesome. Then we walked across to Ground Kontrol to play some arcade games.
Friends of ours who have been to Ground Kontrol told me to find the arcade game that Will Wheaton signed. I am a huge fan of Will and his youtube channel, Table Top on Geek & Sundry amongst other things that he’s done (like Star Trek).
Two floors of rows and rows of vintage arcade games.
Chelvis playing Pacman and Mrs Pacman.
Oh, hello down there in the cool lounge area.
Chelsea and I split an alcoholic beverage before watching her and Travis race in Mario Kart. lol.
After spending some time in Ground Kontrol we headed back to the hotel to pack up our things, eat all the leftovers in our mini fridge and get a good nights rest before our long journey back to Kansas.
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post where I write out all of my thoughts on the trip and photos of the goodies I bought for myself and others.
Peace + love, Jaclyn
