Sketchbook No. 01

What a gloomy day today has been, and its dark before 6pm! This is the time of year I love and hate. I love the cooler weather, but hate that the sunset is so darn early! But I try to combat that with a little bit of sketching. Today I felt a pull towards drawing a fox. I rarely draw foxes (I’m usually drawing flowers and patterns), but an image kept popping into my head. This is what I came up with.

Now it’s just a sketch mind you, not a finished piece, but I think it’s pretty awesome. I doodled a few other ideas, but only wanted to share this one. I’m thinking it will become a painting. I have a handful of paintings and drawing for some friends I need to do, but I also want to throw in a few of my own ideas. Ya know?

Anyways, I thought I would share with you some of my sketchbooks and such.

sketchbooks

I love these 5 x 7 green sketchbook for note taking by my computer desk, quick sketches, notes. As you can see, I have washi tap tabs in my sketchbooks. They are there for my favorite sketches, favorite notes and ideas. Makes it easy to flip to. :)

sketchbooks

This 6 x 9 bigger sketchbook is great for sketching. I drew the fox in this one. Another thing I love about these are that they are made in Kansas City, MO from a company called Global Arts.

These bad boys are amazing! T told me about them a little over a year ago and I love them. I bought a 5.75 x 8.75 tan and a 3.5 x 6 white to start with and then I got hooked. The only downside is that you can see through the pages when you use a pen. At first it annoyed me, but then I got used to it and it made me more creative with my drawings and writings. So to each their own. :)
