I adore the autumn season. I love a little bit of chill in the air, apple cider, carving pumpkins and changing leaves. Two nights ago, T and I went on a walk around downtown where I picked some leaves and flowers that had fallen. I was so giddy to pick them up because it reminds me of how much I love this time of the year! Once I started collecting them I noticed I could get all the colors of the rainbow and that became mine and T’s adventure for the evening. I don’t know if he was as thrilled about finding each color as I was, but he smiled as I gathered them up in one hand and held the other.
I cannot wait for October to get here. It’s my favorite month because:
- It’s my anniversary with T
- It’s my birthday
- The changing weather
- Each year I throw a Murder Mystery Party (yes, there will be photos)
- Halloween baby!
All the pretty colors!
I took apart the leaves and petals so I could create some cool looking art.
My quick idea of shooting the leaves + petals soon turned into an all out photo shoot with just me and my imagination. Question…do you call it fall or autumn? I heard or read somewhere that we borrowed the word autumn from the French and then once spring became a thing, the word fall complemented it nicely so it stuck. I prefer to call it autumn.
Some friends of mine bought me this pumpkin and it was the perfect addition to the art I was creating!
Now I must go through all of my fabric remnants so I can start making autumnal banners. I may have to make a tutorial on how I make mine. Yay or nay?
Peace + love, Jaclyn
