Whew, what a busy and fun weekend! It started with a quick trip with friends to Kansas City Friday evening to celebrate our friend Chelsea’s birthday. We squeezed 5 people into Travis’ car and hit the open road. We talked, we laughed, and we played the game 20 questions to pass the 3 hour drive. It’s a fun game where one person thinks of a person place or thing (we choose person) and everyone else has a collective 20 yes or no questions to ask and figure out who they are thinking of. It was tricky at first, but we got better at the yes or no questions by the end of the 3 hours.
Once we arrived we checked into our 23rd floor suite (oh-la-la! Thanks Ben for hooking us up) and walked thru downtown KC to the bar Howl at the Moon. We drank, sang, danced, and cheered on the Royals as they won another game. Wohoo! A wonderful evening it was. The next morning we woke, got ready and ate at a charming little diner to get some breakfast in before having to head back to Wichita. It was a super quick trip, but a lot of fun!
I had enough time to unpack and take a quick cat nap before I had my first of three photo sessions. An engagement, a family, and a senior session all within 24 hours. Yea!
To help me recover from such a busy weekend today I settled down with a bowl of tomato soup and grilled cheese at lunch. And boy was it good. The tomato soup was from a can, but hey, it was still good, and the grilled cheese was made out of gluten free bread and vegetarian cheese. Not bad at all. :)
It was a blend of comfort food, the overcast day and soft music playing that really helped me wind down. I love hanging with friends, meeting people and learning their stories, but sometimes one needs a little me time to relax. Don’t you agree?
Peace + love, Jaclyn
